1. These three beauty products, because let's continue the materialistic streak and yes please to organic and safe skin care.
Yes please.
- I may be slow as a snail, but finally I've discovered Mariell and Sara's podcasts. A nice alternative to my beloved Ekko podcasts.
- Long walks with S after dark. Such a great way to give your head a break.
- The group assignment I talked about last week, got great feedback and it feels amazing.
- Having my parents and siblings over for lunch today. Planning to make an omelette and I've already baked a cake (it's my brother's birthday next week). Now I just have to clean the whole apartment- Sigh.
- Jordmødrene (the Midwives) and Barneavdelingen on FEM.
No thanks.
- My mood is very unstable these days (it's been like this for the last few months). Went to the doctor on Wednesday and hopefully we'll figure out what to do. At least I have my good days.
Currently reading.
Still not reading anything really. I have made no progress in Americanah since last Sunday.
Favourite dinner.
1. Friday pizza, yum! & a cup of cocoa and Pepsi Max. When it's Friday, it's Friday.

⌔ let the good times roll face & body cleanser fra lush.

My week | 38.
Favourite object.
1. My bed, because this week has been so busy and this place has been my calm, relaxing place.
Yes please.
- Just finished one of 5 papers/projects I have to hand in this fall. This was a group assignment, and I've spent many hours with my group trying to put the whole paper together. Such a exhausting task, but it feels good to be done!
- We made the best vegetarian pizza on Friday. Yum!
- Visited Mathallen (a type of food marked/food hall) on Wednesday morning. Bought ice cream (tjukkmjølk is med jordbær) from Røros.
- Feeling so much happier this week! Yes, it's been busy with school, but I've finally managed to relax properly.
- Mobilfotografene! When I first heard about the show, I didn't see the point. But then I began watching it and it's so much fun!
No thanks.
- I've realized that I have to drop one of my classes. It comes as no surprise, but it's still something I'm not very happy about at the moment - even though I know it's for the best.
- I've began to question my future, or question what I should do after I finish my bachelor degree. I have a few ideas, but I'm not sure about any of them. Makes me feel a little on edge.
Currently reading.
I've read 20 or so pages in Americanah since last Sunday. Haven't really found the time to read this week.

My week | 37.
Favourite object.

1. This tin with sweet liquorice. Because one or two pieces a day, have saved all of my days this week.
Yes please.
- Thanks to this post, I've found the inspiration to organize all of my digital photos - you don't need three folders with the same photos on the same tiny external harddisk. From now on I'm a organized girl - at least when it comes to photos.
- I've voted (in advance) in the Norwegian municipal election (kommunestyre- og fylkestingvalg).
- Getting rid of a few things occupying space in the living room. Decluttering the apartment always feels good and this time was no exception.
- Speaking of decluttering: I've gone through my wardrobe yet again and I've donated a pretty huge amount of clothes to Fretex (the Salvation Army's second hand shop). Feels good, but still, I have way too many clothes. So I've decided that I can't buy anything new for a while. I'll start with one month (this project began on Friday), and then see how it goes. My goal is to buy clothes only when I have to replace something. That means keeping a list of items that need replacements. First up, after my ban ends, is a new pair of black jeans. (I've also written more about my project closet here, in Norwegian).
- We've also redecorated our bedroom. Or at least re-arranged the furniture and removed a few things. So now it feels more open and less messy.
- Oppdrag Mottro by Linda Eide. Such a funny and entertaining book!
- The second final of Diamond League. I really enjoy watching track and field events.
- The first episode of Datoen. The part about Utøya ... It still breaks my heart.
No thanks.
- A big no thanks to stress. I've felt very stressed lately and felt the need to pause the world several times a day. Found my way back to meditation, so hopefully I'll calm down soon (now I just sound hysterical, haha). And I'm considering starting doing some yoga again. My neck and back hurts.
Currently reading.
I've just finished Oppdrag Mottro by Linda Eide, so currently reading nothing. But Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is on top on my to read-list.

Slow mornings

My week | 35 + 36.
Better late than never. Here's a (short) recap of week 35 and 36.
Favourite object.
1. My new to do list-notepad, because it makes my life so much more organized (and helps me get things done).
Good this week.
- My first time using a disposable camera.
- Back to the gym! Or, went spinning once, as I should call it.
- Went on a trip to an island in Nord-Trøndelag with my class. Such a beautiful place!
- S and I went to Røros and had a beautiful, relaxing weekend in Bergstaden.
- Went fishing on Saturday (in week 35). No fish, but lots of blueberry and it was such a beautiful hike.
No thanks.
Felt very tired and stressed last week. Thankfully did the trip to Røros help a little with the stress, but I got to learn how to relax better.
Currently reading.
At the moment I'm not reading anything but school books, but during week 36 I read Jeg sluttet å telle dager by Caterina Cattaneo and I really enjoyed it.

my month in books | august.

After a reading dry spell in July, I've read what seems like a thousand books in August. Yay!
Paper Towns by John Green.
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon.
The Secret Garden by Francis Hodgson Burnett.
The Call of the Wild by Jack London.
Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens.
Det usynlige barnet by Tove Jansson.
Aerith by Anniken Haga.
Høytleseren by Bernhard Schlink.
The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins.
Hvem er du, Alaska? by John Green.
Stupekontroll by Neda Naveen.
Knerten detektiv og Lillebror handelsreisende by Anne-Cath. Vestly.
Unnskyld by Ida Hegazi Høyer.
Profetiens utvalgte (Phenomena #1) by Ruben Eliassen.
Parados øye (Phenomena #2) by Ruben Eliassen.
Det tapte hjertet (P#3) by Ruben Eliassen.
Utfrielsen (P#4) by Ruben Eliassen.
Enigma (P#5) by Ruben Eliassen.
Trollmannen (P#6) by Ruben Eliassen.
Frostens datter (P#7) by Ruben Eliassen.
Bryllupsgaven by Marlen Suyapa Bodden.
22 books! I'm amazed. But some of these books are young adults books or children's books (the Phenomena series are at least written for a younger audience) and they are not exactly difficult to read. Even though, I'm so glad I'm in the mood for reading again. July was a sad literary affair.
The books I enjoyed the most are The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, The Secret Garden, Og været skiftet og det ble sommer og så videre, Bryllupsgaven, The Girl on the Train and Unnskyld, I think. I also enjoyed the books by John Green and the Phenomena-series. To be honest, I really enjoyed all of the books I read this month. I'm not a picky reader.
What have you been reading in August?

Out & about

Hello September!
